Mike, Mitch, Steve, Pat, Brian, Scotty, H, Sam

Team White:
Frank, Cooper, John, Bill, Alan, Jim, Davey, Dave

Score: 5-5 (Tie)
Touchdown plays:
Team Dark:
#1 - (both John and I were sitting) Sam came free in the front right corner of the end zone (from QB's perspective) and caught it for the touchdown.
#2 - (in man coverage, John and Davey running a combo on Mitch and Pat) Jump ball pass to Pat who caught it over Davey.
#3 - Steve jumped a very soft thrown ball to Davey in the middle and I didn't realize that Davey did not tag Steve. Pick-Six
#4 - Sam from the goal line came loose in the right slot (from QB's perspective) and caught the touchdown.
#5 - (with me rushing), Scotty ran a comeback on the left sideline (QB's perspective). John did not get to the ball in time, and Scotty ran untouched to the end zone.

Team White:
#1 - (end zone play), twins left, hook/out combo. Alan from the outside, came back to the ball and caught it with H trying to knock the ball away.
#2 - Jim on the same end zone play, but the ball was thrown inside, over Sam's head, and Jim was able to jump over Sam for the TD
#3 - Alan on a skinny post from trips left. Bill and Dave running quick hitches. (Steve as safety/the middle in a 2-1-2) came down hard, and the lane opened up for Alan. The throw was behind him but he was able to make the catch.
#4 - John and Cooper, split left, John running the quick out, Cooper with the corner-in-out. He said pre-snap he would be open and the window was wide open on the throw to him in the end zone.
#5 - A scissors play (ATL Falcons). Cooper from split left runs post. Bill from middle runs a short out. John from right to the left of the center running a corner route. Good pass, good catch for touchdown.

Interceptions:
Team Dark
#1 - Steve jumped a ball that I threw slowly to Davey. He read it all the way. (returned for touchdown)
#2 - Mitch from zone on the right side (QB perspective), and Alan running an over route to the right, where to the two WR's were running short hitches. Mitch dropped back and leaped up for a one-handed INT.
#3 - The play called for Alan to work the middle of the field. Under duress, I threw a soft pass to Alan, and Mitch was able to jump in front for the INT.

Team White:
#1 - In 3-2 zone, Jim and I were switching to confuse the offense, and Scott switched outside (wide right from QB's perspective) with Steve in the slot. I went with Scotty because of the confusion with the switching. Was able to get in front of the pass to Scotty and wrestle it away from him in the end zone.
#2 - in 3-2 zone. Deep ball into the middle of the field, Cooper made a 1-handed catch for the INT in the end zone.

Missed opportunities
Team Dark:
Dropped 1st downs by Sam and Mitch on back-to-back series late in the game.

Team White:
-Bill was in perfect coverage on a throw but because of the sun, he could not see the ball. The ball hit him squarely in the hands.
-On an overthrow, Bill was there but the ball slipped through his hands.
-In man coverage Alan was on Sam. I was guarding Scotty, but also helping out on any deep throws. The play went to Sam. Both Alan and I were in position, but in the collision, Alan could not corral the ball despite it hitting his hands.
-in 3-2 zone, with me playing Left Safety, Mike looked away, then down the middle to Mitch. I got there in time, but couldn't squeeze the ball. I bobbled it and nearly caught it falling to the ground, and it almost bounced into H's hands.
-On a tipped pass, Davey caught the deflection at the left sideline (QB's perspective) but his foot was out of bounds.

Recap: Sunday Football - Winnetka - 1-8-17

Team White:
Mike, Brian, Steve, Andy, John, Dan, Keith, Jim

Team Dark:
Frank, Cooper, Scotty, Bill, Ed, Alan, Mitch, (Sam got hurt after a few plays) (Kile, couldn't go because of hamstring)

Touchdown Plays:
Team White:
Touchdown #1: deep pass to Andy (Ed in man coverage), Cooper covering John, Andy got his hands on the ball, but Cooper coming late to the play knocked it loose, into John's hands and he out ran me to the end zone.
Touchdown #2: (after INT thrown to Brian) In man coverage, Alan against Brian. Alan misjudged the ball, and Brian got behind Alan and outran him to the end zone.
Touchdown #3: (after INT thrown to John) In man coverage, Ed on John, and I was guarding Andy? I failed to call switch, John beat Ed on a corner move (with Ed hurting his quad on the play).
Touchdown #4: 4th and goal, after Keith caught a comeback at the goalline (disputed whether it was a touchdown or not). In zone coverage (five across), steve on the inside, with Keith outside. They switch, so Steve was outside, so I called switch with Dan. Steve man a move to the inside and back of the end zone, I went with him, abandoning my zone, and Keith came free on the inside out move from the left slot (left of center)
Touchdown #5: In man coverage, Steve outside, John slot, Keith from left slot. (playing 5 against 6), Keith came under the routes, with John and Steve running double post. I waited because i saw Keith coming underneath, which gave Steve the window to get into the back middle of the end zone.

Team Dark:
Touchdown #1: Mitch on a shallow crossing route, avoided three defenders and got into the end zone.
Touchdown #2: Form the 1 yard line: Ed, Bill, Alan, Mitch Cooper.Scott. Bill and Ed running combo where Ed steps up and sets a natural screen for Bill to run under and finish the out route. Although Bill and Ed collided, Steve was playing 7 yards deep in the end zone leave a huge gap where Ed was running his route. Easy pass to Ed for touchdown.
Touchdown #3: from about 10 yard line: Bill Ed, Alan, Mitch, Cooper/Scott. Bill and Ed running combo route, where the get into end zone, and Bill runs his man off to create window for Ed running the out route. Bill took his route deeper into the end zone and the window opened up for him right where he was standing.
Touchdown #4: (5 against 6) from about 15 yard line: Bill, (center) Mitch, Dan, Scott. Scott from right split, running post to back of the end zone, Mitch running out or corner to the right. I think Bill ran a corner-post route to occupy the safety (and the concept was to try and hit him right when he broke back to the inside. This completely drew the deep safety to his side. Dan came underneath from right to left. But after looking left, then back right, Scotty came free right where he needed to be.

Interceptions:
Team White:
Interception #1: Scotty running a post route, the ball came out poorly and did not get downfield. Intercepted by Brian.
Interception #2: under pressure, rolling to the right, I bypassed Scott on the short throw, and went for a slightly longer throw to Mitch, but threw too far inside and it was intercepted by John.

Team Dark:
Interception #1: (Bill?)
Interception #2: Cooper in man coverage against John, but the pass from Mike was late, and Cooper caught it easily.

Missed opportunities:
Team Dark:
- got into red zone three or four times, but stalled on 4th down. most possessions were from 4 and 15, a distance just too great to make up given the weather and personnel.

Recap: Champagne Bowl - Winnetka 1-1-17

Team Blue:
Mike, Cooper, Kile, Danny, Craig, Bill, Pat, Scott

Team White:
Frank, Steve, Darius, Brian, Davey, Alan, Ed, Sam

Touchdowns:
Team Mike:
Touchdown #1: (Bill caught the first or is this mixed up with one of the other four?)
Touchdown #2: Kile with a jump ball over Sam in the front right of the end zone (near baseball fence/parking lot side)
Touchdown #3: With me on the sideline, in man coverage, Sam on Danny, Danny beat him with a move to the left sideline.
Touchdown #4: (Danny)
Touchdown #5: Man coverage, from about the 10 yard line. Sam on Danny. Danny beat him with an out to the left sideline for the touchdown.

Team Frank:
Touchdown #1: while scrambling, Steve came free in the middle/right side of the end zone.
Touchdown #2: in a levels action, Ed ran the deep route from the right end, and beat Bill for the long touchdown.
Touchdown #3: Darius on a post from the left slot, and Danny misplayed the ball in the air and was unable to run Darius down
Touchdown #4: Steve against Scott in man coverage ran a post corner and caught the ball at the front of the end zone (to the right side)
Touchdown #5: Alan against Craig in man coverage ran a post corner and caught the ball at the front of the end zone (to the right side)
Touchdown #6: From 3rd and goal at about the 10 yard line, Darius beat danny with an out and it looked like Danny and Mike collided somewhat which created a easy throwing lane to Darius

Interceptions:
Team Mike:
Interception #1: a bad ball that Pat intercepted
Interception #2: Darius running a deep comeback to the right side, I delivered the ball late and Cooper stepped in front of the ball for the pick.

Team Frank:
Interception #1: on 4th and goal from about the 25 yard line, Mike threw a ball into the end zone and it looked like Ed was going to known down, but he didn't and it hit me in the chest and I couldn't drop the ball before curling up around it.

Missed opportunities:
Team Frank
- on 4th and goal, Alan ran an out against Scott in man coverage, but the pass got away from me and was too far in front of him.
- on 3rd and goal, we ran double pass to steve. He waited and found Dave wide open in the end zone, but Davey closed his hands too soon (i saw it all happen!) and it deflected off of the outside of his hands
- the ensuing 4th and goal, The play call had Steve running a post corner (assuming it was man coverage, with Danny on Steve) but it was zone, so Danny was sitting on the corner route. I looked back to the left side and found end with good separation in the back left corner, but the pass I threw was crooked (not anything close to a spiral) and high, so he could not corral it. Afterwards, Brian told me that he popped open immediately on his slant-hitch route into the middle of the field.

Key plays:
-on the winning drive, from 4th and short at midfield, Brian ran an out and up against Scott in man coverage. Scotty was beat, but my throw was short and Scotty caught up to it to tip it, but he failed to knock it down and Brian grabbed it for a huge gain.
-Brian and Alan had a lot of great catches for first downs and long gains. Alan consistently beat his man coverage (often against Craig) and Brian found a lot of soft spots in the zones.
-Darius had a lot of catches when I had to scramble. Many of those throws were against the grain (i was running to the right and threw back to the left). He was able to catch every one of them.
-Davey had two or three huge completions when the defense just allowed him to get open in the zone and get a good 10 YAC.
